Salvia Strawberry Crush (greggii)

Salvia ‘Strawberry Crush’ (greggii): is a small bushy shrub 40-60cm H for full sun and gorgeous mid pink flowers with dark calyces.

Salvia ‘Strawberry Crush’: flowers for most of the year.

Flowers: are a gorgeous pink with a frilly bottom lobe and a prominent white throat. Main flowering time for ‘Strawberry Crush’ is spring through the summer months into autumn until cut back. Very bee, moth and insect friendly.

Calyces: Calyces and a lovely purplish crimson, are ribbed with pointed lobes.

Leaves: are shiny, midgreen, oval with the veins showing on the top surface as if inverted, margins entire. apart from the flowering stem which is coloured the same as the calyces, all other stems are green.

Salvia ‘Strawberry Crush’: is a gorgeous small bushy shrub arising from a single stem. Perfect for a sunny position in the front of the garden bed or informal border. It’s lovely pink flowers certainly brighten up a dull area. Best planted in 2’s or 3’s to get a lovely massed effect. ‘Strawberry Crush’ is also good  in large pots, with regular feeding and watering, it performs beautifully, adding that splash of colour to the garden.

A good tough hardy plant for the hot dry summer months, flowering throughout autumn and often into winter. Hardy in the colder months and able to tolerate a light frost.

Propagation: easily from tip cuttings taken most times of the year.
